Specifications of the 1948 Holtkamp Organ, III/72
Built in 1948 by Walter Holtkamp Sr, of the Holtkamp Organ Company, at the cost of $45,000, the Cathedral organ comprises a total of 72 ranks distributed over 7 divisions: specifically, 54 ranks in the west Gallery, and 18 ranks in the Chancel at the east end, behind the reredos. The organ is equipped with Pitman windchests, electro-pneumatic action, an SSL CFM-300 capture system encompassing 300 levels of piston memory, and is playable from two identical 3 manual consoles: a moveable console located in the west Gallery, and a stationary console located in the Chancel area.
