Summary of the Parish Pastoral Council Meeting

Parish Pastoral Council Workshop: Members of our PPC will attend a PPC workshop at the Center for Pastoral Leadership on Thursday October 25th and provide an update at the next PPC meeting in November.

Letter of Introduction: The draft of a letter introducing the PPC and its mission to the Cathedral parishioners was reviewed, edited and sent back for final revisions. The letter to be sent later this month will be printed on legal paper using the Cathedral letterhead. At the bottom of the letter there will be the picture of the council members, their phone contact information, and PPC e-mail address.

Parish Council Webpage: A webpage for PPC has been set up as a link on the “Called to Community” page. A PPC e-mail has also been set up. Those present agreed that it would be a good idea to add this e-mail to the front section of the Sunday bulletin.

Accessibility: Fr. Ed brought up the topic of handicapped accessible access to the Cathedral and the Rectory, and what it might take to make this happen. Discussion identified several areas of need in this regard on which Council will follow up on in future discussions.

Misc: The group discussed the benefits and difficulties of approaching familiar people in church to ask for assistance with projects as needs arise, an approach which might prove to be a beneficial recruiting tool.
