Prayer and Devotion

Contemplative Prayer is spiritual practice that opens us more deeply to a relationship with God in pure faith & intimacy with God.

Morning Prayer and Coffee - A weekly gathering 6:30 am-7:00 am in the Lower Sacristy of the Cathedral. Using the scriptures for the coming Sunday, these groups share their faith and some fellowship over a cup of coffee. Tuesdays for women, Fridays for men. Just show up at the Lower Sacristy or contact the parish office with inquiries 216-771-6666, ext. 4700 or at stjohns@dioceseofcleveland.org.

Eucharistic Adoration - Each Thursday afternoon, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place in the Cathedral. It begins following the 12:00 noon Mass. - Beginning 6 September 2012 Exposition will end with Benediction at 1:30 pm.

Oremus - is the Latin for “Let us pray.” As a community of faith, we are called to support each other in prayer. You may use this form to submit a request or send us a request by email at stjohns@dioceseofcleveland.org and we will include it with the “Oremus” cards in the prayers of the Cathedral community.

Sunday Morning Rosary - Every Sunday following the 10:30 am Mass, the Rosary is recited aloud in the Mary Shrine (south transept) of the Cathedral. Please plan to come. If you don’t know how to pray the rosary or don’t have a rosary - this would be a wonderful time and place to learn.
